On 20 February 2026, a CBuD workshop was successfully organised by HP LSA for officials of the Panchayati Raj Department, Himachal Pradesh. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation, with more than 90 officials attending the programme.

The workshop aimed at creating awareness about the CBuD (Call Before u Dig) app and its crucial role in safeguarding underground infrastructure during excavation activities. Participants were informed about the importance of coordination with utility owners before undertaking any digging work.

During the session, officials were briefed on the key benefits of using the CBuD app, including prevention of damage to underground telecom, water, gas, and power lines, ensuring public safety, reducing service disruptions, and avoiding financial losses and legal complications. Special emphasis was laid on the mandatory use of the CBuD app before any digging activity, in line with government guidelines.

The workshop also included practical demonstrations on the process of registration and submission of excavation requests through the app to facilitate seamless communication between local bodies and utility service providers.

The initiative marks an important step towards strengthening infrastructure protection and promoting safe excavation practices across Himachal Pradesh. Participants appreciated the informative session and expressed their commitment to ensuring compliance with CBuD norms in their respective areas.
