HP LSA Organises CBuD Workshop for HP PWD Officials and Contractors

On 23 February 2026, a CBuD workshop was organised by HP LSA for officials of the Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department and their contractors. The session saw active participation from more than 80 attendees.

The workshop aimed to raise awareness about the importance of the CBuD (Call Before u Dig) app and its role in protecting underground infrastructure during excavation works. Participants were sensitised about the risks associated with uncoordinated digging activities and the potential damage to critical utility services such as telecom, water supply, gas pipelines, and electricity networks.

During the session, officials and contractors were briefed on the various benefits of using the CBuD app, including enhanced public safety, prevention of service disruptions, reduction in financial losses, and avoidance of legal liabilities. Emphasis was placed on the mandatory use of the CBuD app prior to undertaking any digging activity, in accordance with existing government guidelines.

Practical guidance was also provided on the registration process and submission of excavation requests through the app to ensure better coordination with utility service providers.

The initiative reflects continued efforts to strengthen infrastructure safety mechanisms in Himachal Pradesh and promote responsible and compliant excavation practices across departments and executing agencies.
