DoT HP LSA Reviews Progress of Amended BharatNet Programme in Solan

Shri Virendra Kumar, Additional Director General Telecom (Addl. DGT), HP LSA, Department of Telecommunications (DoT), visited the State-level Network Operating Center (SNOC) of the Amended BharatNet Programme (ABP) in Solan district on 17.04.2026 to review the progress of BharatNet implementation in Himachal Pradesh.

During the visit, Shri Virendra Kumar reviewed the operational status of the SNOC and discussed various aspects related to network monitoring, service delivery, and timely execution of BharatNet works with officials concerned. Emphasis was laid on ensuring reliable broadband connectivity in rural areas and expediting pending activities under the programme.

As part of the field inspection, the Addl. DGT also visited Gram Panchayat Rauri in Dharampur Block of Solan district, where he inspected the fiber connectivity infrastructure established under the Amended BharatNet Programme. The inspection focused on assessing the quality and readiness of the network infrastructure aimed at providing high-speed broadband services to rural citizens.

Officials associated with the project briefed the Addl. DGT about the current status of connectivity, operational challenges, and measures being undertaken to ensure seamless telecom and internet services in the region.

The visit reflects the Department of Telecommunications’ continued commitment towards strengthening rural digital infrastructure and accelerating the implementation of the Amended BharatNet Programme across Himachal Pradesh.
