As the proud Additional Director General (Telecom) of Gujarat LSA, it is my pleasure to share some remarkable achievements and initiatives that have shaped the telecommunication landscape in our jurisdiction.

Covering the State of Gujarat and the Union Territories of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, Gujarat LSA has consistently strived for excellence. With our dedicated efforts, we have achieved a tele-density of over 100%, a testament to the widespread adoption and accessibility of telecommunication services in our region. Ensuring connectivity reaches every nook and corner, we take immense pride in reporting that more than 98% of inhabited villages in Gujarat and all inhabited villages in Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu are now covered with mobile signals. We have also made significant strides in enhancing digital infrastructure, with over 99% of Gram Panchayats in Gujarat and all Gram Panchayats in the Union Territories enjoying Optical Fiber Connectivity.

At the forefront of technological advancements, Gujarat LSA actively participated in the momentous 5G launch by the Hon’ble Prime Minister at the Indian Mobile Congress in 2022. We believe that embracing emerging technologies is pivotal to empowering our citizens and fostering a digital revolution. Realizing the importance of coastal connectivity, we are making earnest efforts to enhance mobile connectivity along the vast coastal line. Our ‘Vibrant Village Program’ (VVP) and comprehensive surveys of border villages underscore our commitment to ensuring telecommunication connectivity reaches even the remotest areas.

As pioneers of innovation, we successfully piloted the Call Before You Dig (CBUD) mobile application, a collaborative initiative to protect the underlying assets of private and government entities from damage.

Beyond technological endeavours, Gujarat LSA considers citizen education paramount. We actively conduct awareness sessions on cyber crimes, telecom frauds, electromagnetic radiation, and related topics to empower our community with knowledge and awareness. Quality of service is of utmost importance to us, and to ensure its adherence, we regularly conduct exhaustive mobile drive tests in various parts of Gujarat, making data-driven decisions to enhance user experiences.

As we continue our journey towards a digitally inclusive society, we remain dedicated to exploring new avenues, embracing innovation, and fostering growth. Together, with the support of our citizens and stakeholders, we envision a connected Gujarat, where communication knows no bounds.
