Unified License Inspection and Security Audit Conducted at Shimla

Under the guidance of the Additional Director General of Telecommunications (Addl. DGT), Himachal Pradesh Licensed Service Area (HP LSA), the Department of Telecommunications conducted a Unified License (UL) inspection and Security Audit of M/s Bharti Airtel Pvt. Ltd. at Shimla on 12 December 2025.

The inspection and audit were carried out to assess compliance with the provisions of the Unified License and to verify adherence to prescribed security guidelines and norms issued by the Department of Telecommunications. The audit covered various operational, technical, and security-related aspects to ensure that the services being provided are in line with regulatory requirements.

During the inspection, the audit team interacted with the representatives of M/s Bharti Airtel Pvt. Ltd. and reviewed relevant documents, network elements, and compliance records. Emphasis was laid on ensuring robust security practices, protection of user data, and strict compliance with licensing conditions.

The HP LSA reiterated the importance of continuous compliance with licensing and security obligations by all Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) to maintain a secure, reliable, and resilient telecom ecosystem. Such inspections and audits are part of DoT’s ongoing efforts to strengthen regulatory oversight and ensure quality and secure telecom services for citizens.
