Joint Inspection of Vi Points of Sale Conducted by DoT HP LSA in Kangra District

Shimla, April 16, 2026: Under the guidance of the Additional Director General Telecom (Addl. DGT), Himachal Pradesh Licensed Service Area (HP LSA), the Security and Compliance Team of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), HP LSA conducted a joint inspection of three Points of Sale (PoSs) of M/s Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) on 16.04.2026 at Nurpur, Jasoor, and Ranital in District Kangra, Himachal Pradesh.

The inspection was carried out as part of the Department’s ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Indian Telegraph/Telecommunications regulatory framework and to strengthen subscriber verification processes. During the inspection, PoS operators and staff members were sensitized regarding various regulatory provisions, customer acquisition procedures, and the importance of adherence to Know Your Customer (KYC) norms.

The Security and Compliance Team also briefed the PoS representatives on the need for maintaining proper documentation, preventing misuse of telecom resources, and ensuring strict compliance with telecom licensing conditions and security guidelines issued by the Department of Telecommunications from time to time.

The Department reiterated its commitment towards ensuring secure and transparent telecom services for consumers and emphasized that such inspections would continue regularly across the state to promote compliance and strengthen the telecom ecosystem.
