Today, Sri. M. Nagesh Rao, ITS (Addl. DGT), AP LSA, Deputy Director General (T) Sri.K.RAJA SEKHAR, ITS, and Assistant Director (T) Sri.SATEESH visited the 5G Test Bed at IIT Hyderabad. During the visit, Prof. K. Kiran and Sri Raghunadhan , Ex-Secretary (TRAI) were present and participated in the discussions.
The Addl. DGT sir and DDG (T) sir held detailed discussions with Prof. K. Kiran ji regarding telecommunication-focused startup initiatives and the role of the 5G test bed in supporting innovation, research, and future commercial applications.
The team also visited Chimnapur village, where 5G-based high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity has been deployed on a pilot/testing basis for future commercial implementation. The connectivity was verified, including its use for T-SAT–enabled online classes for primary school students in the village.
In addition to the above, the team visited the Semiconductor Laboratory at IIT Hyderabad, where ongoing research and development activities were briefed.
