HP LSA Conducts Sanchar Saathi Awareness Drive at ITI Swarghat
Bilaspur, August 14, 2025 – The Himachal Pradesh Licensed Service Area (HP LSA) team of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) organized a Sanchar Saathi awareness drive at Government ITI Swarghat, District Bilaspur.
The programme aimed to educate students about various citizen-centric initiatives launched by DoT to safeguard telecom users and curb digital fraud. Key initiatives highlighted included:
CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register): Helping citizens trace, block, and recover lost or stolen mobile phones.
TAFCOP (Telecom Analytics for Fraud Management & Consumer Protection): Allowing users to check mobile connections issued in their name.
CHAKSU: A tool to detect and prevent fraudulent communications.
KYM (Know Your Mobile): Enabling users to verify the authenticity of mobile devices.
KYI (Know Your Identity): Preventing misuse of customer identity for unauthorized SIMs.
RICWIN: Detecting fraudulent bulk SIM activations and suspicious telecom activities.
The session empowered students with practical knowledge to identify, report, and prevent telecom frauds, thereby enhancing digital safety and consumer awareness.
The HP LSA team emphasized that such outreach initiatives are crucial in building a secure telecom ecosystem and urged students to spread awareness in their communities.
