State-Level Coordination Committee Reviews Key Telecom Infrastructure Initiatives in Himachal Pradesh

A State-Level Coordination Committee meeting was convened on 10.02.2026 under the chairmanship of the Director (DT&G), Government of Himachal Pradesh. The meeting brought together senior officers and stakeholders to deliberate on key telecom infrastructure and connectivity initiatives across the state.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the implementation and effective utilization of the CBuD (Call Before u Dig) mechanism to prevent damage to underground telecom infrastructure during excavation activities. The Committee also reviewed the progress of the proposed Common Duct Policy aimed at promoting shared infrastructure and minimizing repeated road cutting, thereby ensuring efficient use of public resources.

The progress of the 4G Saturation Project was comprehensively assessed, with emphasis on improving mobile connectivity in uncovered and remote areas of Himachal Pradesh. The Committee further reviewed the status of the Amended BharatNet Project, which seeks to strengthen broadband connectivity in rural and gram panchayat areas, enhancing digital access and supporting e-governance services.

Discussions were also held on the fiberization of telecom towers to enhance network capacity, improve service quality, and facilitate the future rollout of advanced technologies. Key issues related to Right of Way (RoW) were examined, with directions issued to streamline procedures and resolve bottlenecks to expedite telecom infrastructure deployment.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the State Government’s commitment to strengthening digital infrastructure and ensuring seamless connectivity for citizens across Himachal Pradesh.
