Invalid CLI – Unearthing of Illegal Telecom Operations
For curbing illegal telecom operations, which pose threat to National Security in addition to loss to government exchequer, Department of Telecommunications (DoT) operates a Call Centre for registering international call received with Invalid CLI (either No CLI or Domestic/Local CLI). Citizens may report receipt of such international calls on 1800110420/1963. Based on intelligence received from Call Centre, field units (LSAs) of DoT carry out investigation in coordination with Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), raid the location of illegal telecom operations and unearth such illegal setups.
