HP LSA Organizes Cyber Security Awareness Session at Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla

As part of the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week–2025, the Himachal Pradesh Licensed Service Area (HP LSA), Department of Telecommunications (DoT) organized an informative session on “Cyber Security & Citizen Centric Initiatives” at the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS), Shimla.

The session aimed to promote cyber safety and digital vigilance among citizens by showcasing various DoT-developed public tools such as CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register), TAFCOP (Telecom Analytics for Fraud Management and Consumer Protection), CHAKSU, Know Your Mobile (KYM), Know Your Internet (KYI), and RICWIN (Report Income Call Warning Information Number).

Experts from HP LSA explained how these tools empower users to safeguard their mobile connections, detect fraudulent activities, and report misuse effectively. Participants were also briefed about safe digital practices and the importance of cyber vigilance in day-to-day life.

The event reflected HP LSA’s continued commitment to fostering transparency, accountability, and public awareness in line with the theme of Vigilance Awareness Week — “Corruption Free India for a Developed Nation.”
