HP LSA DoT Conducts Four-Day EMR Compliance Testing Drive in Chamba District
The Himachal Pradesh Licensed Service Area (HP LSA) unit of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) successfully carried out a comprehensive four-day BTS (Base Transceiver Station) testing drive in Chamba District from 17th to 20th November 2025.
The special compliance drive was conducted to assess adherence to Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) norms across mobile network operators. A total of 78 BTS sites belonging to BSNL, Bharti Airtel (M/s BAL), Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd (M/s RJIL), and Vodafone Idea Ltd (M/s VIL) were tested during this period.
The initiative aimed to ensure that telecom service providers maintain radiation levels within the prescribed limits to safeguard public health and strengthen consumer confidence in mobile network infrastructure. The DoT compliance team performed detailed measurements and verification of EMR emissions as part of its routine monitoring and regulatory enforcement activities.
Such periodic drives reinforce the DoT’s commitment to maintaining safe telecom infrastructure and ensuring transparency in EMR compliance across the state.
