DoT Reviews 4G Saturation Sites in Solan to Boost Rural Connectivity

Shimla, September 6 – In a major push to strengthen telecom connectivity in remote areas of Himachal Pradesh, the Additional Director General (Telecom), HP LSA, inspected multiple 4G Saturation Project sites of BSNL in Solan district on Saturday.

The visit covered sites at Jungle Mehfuja Mehduda Mashobra Dwitiy C1, Reserve Jungle Tibba Mansa Devi, and Janjao, which are part of the Government’s initiative to provide universal 4G mobile coverage in far-flung and underserved regions.

According to officials, once operational, these sites will significantly improve mobile network coverage in more than 20 villages and remote habitations, ensuring reliable connectivity for residents, students, and local businesses.

The Additional DG(T) emphasized that enhancing digital access in rural and hilly regions is a priority for the Department of Telecommunications. “Better mobile connectivity not only empowers citizens but also plays a vital role in education, healthcare, e-governance, and disaster management in geographically challenging terrains like Himachal Pradesh,” he noted.

The 4G Saturation Project is being implemented in coordination with BSNL and State authorities to bridge the digital divide and extend the benefits of Digital India to every corner of the state.
