CBuD Workshop Conducted by HP LSA, DoT for BSNL Officials in Himachal Pradesh

A workshop on the Call Before u Dig (CBuD) initiative was successfully organized by the Himachal Pradesh Licensed Service Area (HP LSA) of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for officials of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Himachal Pradesh Circle.

The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 40 officials, reflecting strong interest and commitment towards ensuring safe and coordinated digging practices across the state.

During the workshop, participants were sensitized about the objectives and key features of the CBuD application. The officials were briefed on the various benefits of the app, including prevention of damage to underground telecom infrastructure, improved coordination among utility agencies, and enhanced public safety.

The resource persons emphasized the mandatory use of the CBuD app before undertaking any digging activity, as per the guidelines issued by the Department of Telecommunications. The app aims to create a centralized digital platform where agencies can notify proposed excavation activities and obtain necessary clearances, thereby minimizing accidental damage to underground telecom assets.

Interactive discussions were also held to address practical challenges and to clarify procedural aspects related to the implementation of the CBuD framework in the field. Participants appreciated the initiative and acknowledged the importance of strict compliance to safeguard critical telecom infrastructure.

The workshop concluded with a call for coordinated efforts among all stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of the CBuD guidelines across Himachal Pradesh.
