Annual Security Conference of North Zone States and UTs Held at Solan, Himachal Pradesh
The Annual Security Conference of North Zone States and Union Territories, comprising Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh (East) and Uttar Pradesh (West), was held on 6th November 2025 at Solan, Himachal Pradesh.
The conference was graced by Dr. Neeraj Mittal, Secretary (Telecom), Department of Telecommunications (DoT), who delivered the keynote address. In his address, Dr. Mittal highlighted the pivotal role of telecom security in safeguarding national interests and emphasized the need for enhanced coordination between Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and Licensed Service Areas (LSAs). He also encouraged the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and best security practices to strengthen the resilience of the telecom network.
The conference provided an important platform for deliberations on emerging telecom security challenges, sharing of field experiences, and reviewing joint initiatives to combat illegal telecom activities and cyber threats. Senior officials from DoT headquarters, LSAs, and police representatives from participating States and UTs attended the event.
The discussions reaffirmed DoT’s unwavering commitment to building a secure, transparent, and technology-driven telecom ecosystem, ensuring the safety and reliability of communication networks across the nation.
