Telecommunication sector has contributed immensely in accelerating growth in our country through delivery of services at our doorsteps – be it information, education, various e-services e.g. ticketing, bill payments etc. including entertainment and even cooked food at our beck and call.

Enablement of convenience also brings forth issues of security and digital divide which may affect a large section of diverse population across length and breadth of our country as more and more services become online.

Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is committed to provide a safe, performant, reliable and universal access of telecom enabled services to all our citizens making sure that their rights are protected as enshrined in our Constitution. Roll out of 5G services will make IoT (Internet of Things) and Telemedicine a reality, which has potential to further improve our quality of life.

Bihar LSA (License Service Area) of DoT, comprising of Bihar and Jharkhand units located at Patna and Ranchi are discharging their responsibilities in close coordination with various State and Central agencies to achieve above goals.
