About Punjab LSA

Punjab Licensed Service Area (LSA) consists of State of Punjab and Panchkula town of Haryana State as a part of tricity of Chandigarh, Mohali & Panchkula. It is headed Additional Director General Telecom, Group A officer of Indian Telecom Service (ITS) having office headquarters at Mohali. Punjab LSA shares international border with Pakistan.

Punjab is known as ‘the land of Five Rivers’ referring to the rivers Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi, Sutlej, and Beas. The most sacred of Sikh shrines, the Golden Temple, is a major pilgrimage destination for devotees from around the world.

Punjab LSA primarily focuses on Licensing Compliance, Network Coverage, Security of telecom networks, improving rural telecom connectivity and Quality of Service, facilitating technology proliferation, enforcement of telecom policy regulations and coordination with the State Governments on Telecom related aspects etc.

The LSA has 23 districts with total 12,534 villages out of which 12,500 villages are covered by Mobile services (2G/3G/4G). The LSA has 4,51,98,016 subscriber base.
